An active anti-incorporationist, she found numerous doors in broadcasting closed to her after the Free Market Act of 2007, resulting in her pursuit of a career in pirated radio and television. By 2010, her pirate radio broadcast, "Burning Benjamin Franklin", was the only pirate broadcast in any medium still transmitting in North America.
